SCHOOLS OUTREACH PROGRAMME

SCHOOLS OUTREACH PROGRAMME

Since 2012, Royal Geographical Society - Hong Kong has run a major Schools Outreach Programme, through which it hosts educational events at schools throughout Hong Kong.

Speakers have included:  Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the world's greatest explorer; General Sir Peter Wall, Chief of the UK General Staff;  Stephanie Case, an ultra-runner; Dave Cornthwaite, the holder of Nine World Records;  Adam Walker, swimmer of the "The Seven Great Swims"; and Michael Pitts, one of the world’s foremost cameramen, having won two Emmy awards for his work with Sir David Attenborough.

During the most recent year, the Royal Geographical Society - Hong Kong organised 35 School Outreach talks to local and international schools. The programme reached over 5,600 pupils from different schools around Hong Kong, including local schools, international schools and ESF schools, such as HK True Light College, Maryknoll Fathers’ School, St Mark’s School, St Stephen’s Girls School, Canadian International School, Discovery College, Island School, Kellett School and South Island School.

The Schools Outreach Programme is made possible and successful via your financial support as Members and guests when you attend our regular talks and bidding at occasional auctions, so thank you for making this programme possible.

Any school wishing to join the School Outreach Programme should write to the Director.
