What is Family Membership?
Family Membership is for two adults living at the same address including any children who are aged 10 or below.
Can my children attend for free?
Children who are 10 years old or below are welcome to most of our evening events for free.
Can I cancel my ticket and be refunded?
For evening events, once the payment has been made, there is no refund or transfer but you may give your ticket to another person.
How do I renew my membership?

Is there a seating arrangement for events?
Our evening talks are free seating except the Gala Dinner, the Annual Dinner and the Quiz Dinner.
What are the benefits of becoming a member?
You will enjoy members' rates for all events. You will have priority booking for popular events and exclusive booking for field trips with guests.
How can I check my membership status?

Can I cancel my membership?

How many guests can I bring?
Each member is welcome to bring one guest to each event and additional guest(s) subject to availability.
Can I purchase tickets at the door?
You can purchase your tickets at the door subject to the availability of places except for the Gala Dinner, Annual Dinner, Quiz Dinner and field trips.
Do I have to be a member to attend events?
Non-members are welcome to attend our events, except field trips which are exclusively for members and their guests.
By what time do I need to arrive at the talks?
Evening talks usually begin with a drinks reception at 6.30pm. We suggest to arrive no later than 7pm if you would like to guarantee to have a place. If you have prepaid, your place(s) will be secured until the beginning of the talk.
What are the talk fees used for?
The talk fees are for paying the rental fee of the venue and the other costs of the talk, such as the travel fees of the speaker. If there is any surplus on the talk, it will go to fund our Scholarship Programme.
Is the drinks reception complimentary?
Most of our talks include complimentary drinks, unless otherwise stated.
By when do the talks end?
The talks usually end around 8.30pm and the Q&A by 8.50pm.
Are photos available after events?
Yes, on request.
How long will my place(s) hold if I pre-paid?
The paid place(s) will be released to the waiting queue just prior to the talk starts.
When I register online, do I have to register my child who is 11 years old or under?
Yes, please put down your child’s name as guest and state how old s/he is.
What happens if the RGS needs to change the venue of the talk?
The RGS reserves the right, if necessary in usual circumstances, to change the location of a talk to another location situated on Hong Kong Island. In this event, all attendees are notified immediately by their email addresses and a posting is made on facebook.
If I am a non-member who buys a ticket, am I going to hear from RGS again?
If you purchase a ticket as a non-member, you are automatically put on our distribution list for similar events. You may opt out of this either by letting us know at the time or by clicking unsubscribe at any time.
