Now that international travel is in full flow again, we are delighted to invite you to go “Around the World in 80 Days” with “Phileas Fogg, Esq” at our upcoming Gala Ball. The Ball is primed to be one of the most popular events in our Societies’ calendars for this year.
The programme for the night ranges from a sunset Champagne Reception overlooking the beautiful AMC Marina to a special 5-Course dinner catered by the AMC, part of the Shangri-la group.
There is also all that you’d expect at a Gala Ball, including Jazz, Dancing, a DJ, a Photo Booth with exotic costumes, and lively Entertainment. All tables have unique table centres, following Phileas Fogg on his around the world journey.
A highlight of the evening is a special guest appearance by celebrity TV adventurer and explorer Benedict Allen, telling amusing anecdotes of his global adventures.

Meeting point: Reform Club AKA, Aberdeen Marina Club, 8 Shum Wan Road, Aberdeen
Schedule: 7.00pm: Sunset Champagne reception at the Club’s Terrace overlooking the Marina, and in the adjacent Marina Suite
8.00pm: Five-course dinner at The Grand Ballroom with free flow wines, beers and soft drinks throughout the evening
9.00pm: Amusing travel anecdotes from celebrity adventurer Benedict Allen, between courses of the dinner
10.00pm onwards: Dancing and Entertainment, including on the Terrace, the Marina Suite and the Grand Ballroom
Midnight: Survivors’ Photo, Hot Air Balloons, Carriages
Dress code: Black Tie/Suits, or National/Tribal Dress, or Global Traveller
Please note that we shall be providing a selection of hats and other costume items for guests to use during the evening, if they wish
