He shows that while climate change is already happening, acting now can limit the impacts of future climate change. As multiple climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts are already underway, in the second part of this talk Dr Koch gives an overview on potential global climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, such as global tree planting efforts and climate-proof cities.
Dr Alexander Koch is from Germany and is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Hong Kong. A recognised expert on climate change, he received his BSc in Geography from the Philipps-University Marburg, Germany, before moving to the United Kingdom where he obtained an MSc at King’s College London and his PhD from the University College London.
