South Georgia Antartic Wilderness
The island of South Georgia lies in the windswept South Atlantic Ocean, 1,300 km Southeast of the Falkland Islands. A pristine wilderness of great beauty but terrible inhospitality, the island is about 160 km long. Lt Colonel Peacock made the first ever retracing of Sir Ernest Shackleton's crossing of the island. . In this lecture, Lt Colonel Peacock speaks of and shows slides from his expedition to the island in 1964, including highlighting aspects of the interesting history and geography of this fascinating Antarctic wilderness.
