Accessible Antarctica facts and images from the far South

Dr. Thomas Bauer
Tuesday, 16 Jan 2001
Assistant Professor Dr. Thomas Bauer has been active in Antarctic affairs since 1991 and has visited the region six times by ship and twice by aircraft. In his lecture, he looked at the size, geography and geology of the area, as well as the historic sites on the subAntarctic islands of South Georgia, the Falklands and other islands, before moving on to the Antarctic Peninsula with its diversity of wildlife and historic sites. He showed superb images of very different areas of Antarctica using slides and video footage.
