The renowned desert explorer gave an enthralling lecture on his desert experiences, which included three years he spent living with the Kababish bedouin tribe and the journey he and his wife made when they crossed the Sahara from West to East covering 4,500 miles. The first Europeans to make this crossing, they received many awards for their feat including the Society's Ness Award.
